For this Hibberdene residence, the client envisioned a contemporary style achieved using clean lines and interlocking rectangular volumes, with the chimney serving as a prominent vertical feature that contrasts with the strong horizontal axis of the design. The low roof pitches, which give the illusion of a flat roof, are not only aesthetically pleasing but also ideally suited for the subtropical climate of Hibberdene. Expansive glass fenestration plays a crucial role in the design, inviting abundant natural light into the interior spaces while providing uninterrupted views of the lush surroundings. Open terraces further enhance this connection with nature, offering seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living areas. The surrounding garden is thoughtfully integrated into the design, with planters and pergolas allowing greenery to weave through the architecture, blurring the boundaries between built and natural environments.
